LifeCenter Portraits 2014

This past year I was involved in 4 projects that I found very satisfying and moving, indeed, life changing. One of those projects was for LifeCenter . Their mission statement “ To save, enhance and change lives through organ and tissue donation.” They serve the Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana area, working with 33 hospitals in 16 counties. In short, they are awesome.  Katie Dillon of LifeCenter, on the advice of Rick Neltner, gave me the opportunity to photograph recipients and donor families for LifeCenter’s 2015 calendar, which they distribute every year at their annual banquet. I was moved to tears many times on set hearing the dramatic and traumatic stories that were told to me of the folks involved, and I was able to gain yet another broader perspective on the beauty and fragility of life in the process. I hope you enjoy looking at some of these portraits, which were made relatively quickly and quietly, and in locations that mean something to each person or family. You can read more about this amazing organization at www.lifepassiton.org or LifeCenter on Facebook. They are worth knowing. Thanks for looking.
